Within many businesses the terms Operations and Manufacturing are synonymous.

We define Operations as all activities relating to the identification, procurement, shipment and retention of raw materials and the distribution of finished product (including all operations such as warehousing), with Manufacturing as the responsible agent for all aspects of the manufacture of finished product. Inevitably we use the terminology applied within the business being assessed.

Depending on the brief we include a review of the Manufacturing sustaining/Engineering (R&D interface) function.
